Successful rugby clubs are more than just what happens on the pitch. Players and coaches are vitally important but so are the many dedicated volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to help our club function.

As with all sports club, we rely heavily on volunteers – people who give their time in all sorts of ways to enable the club to continue its activities and fulfil its objectives. There are many ways in which players, supporters and parents can all help in driving the club forward.

Thank you to everyone who supported Shirt Sponsorship in the match day programme.
This season will be the first year we distribute a digital programme and as such have decided to sponsor players instead of shirt numbers.
The players have been challenged to find their own sponsors but having a playing squad of around 40 there will be plenty of opportunities to sponsor one if you wish to continue to support the club.
We are seeking to raise £150 +VAT for each sponsorship and will highlight the sponsor name/logo under the players name and photo on the website under players …

The Centenary celebrations at the Gala Dinner in the spacious marquee on the 2nd team pitch were an unmitigated success.  The weather was perfect, the music, catering and the camaraderie of all age groups was up to the highest possible standards as expected.  The evening started with free drinks, followed by the usual excellent and apt welcoming speech by our President, John Spencer, incapacitated physically but certainly not mentally! He paid apt tributes not only to our founders but to those who kept up the momentum to take us from being a local Dales Club to one known and respected …

This is an important year in the history of Wharfedale Rugby Union Football Club, formerly Upper Wharfedale RUFC, as their first fixture was played in the autumn of 1923.  No precise date is known.  On June 16th a Centenary Dinner is taking place for approximately 400 and this will be followed by a Mini and Junior Celebration weekend over two days on September 30th and October 1st.  The aim is to have an attendance of over 1000 at the home match.  On December 26th the traditional friendly match versus North Ribblesdale will feature support for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and
