Well, the new season is now almost upon us. It will kick off for us at the Avenue at 7.00pm on Thursday when the Foresters have a preseason friendly match against our old friends from North Ribblesdale. Last season the two teams met twice, the first time away in August when the Foresters suffered a 15-24 loss followed by a 35-22 home win on Boxing Day. So, please come along to support the team and do not forget to see Stephen Brake about your membership for the season.

The Mini and Junior Section membership / registration forms for the upcoming season are now available on this web-site – click on the “Minis and Juniors” link near the top of this page and then the link to “Minis/Juniors Membership 2019/20”. Registration sessions will be held upstairs in the clubhouse from 10.00 am to mid-day on the first three Sundays in September (i.e. 1st, 8th and 15th). We would very much appreciate it if as many young players as possible are registered on these days. Registration is a very important issue since unless a player is formally registered with the club then he/she is not permitted by the RFU to play in a match.
Do you have a few hours to spare on Friday mornings and enjoy being outside? If so, you are the person/people we are looking for to join “The Friday Gang” working on the grounds. The work involved ranges from mowing and strimming to white-lining and general tidying up etc. If you are interested please contact Adrian Parry by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Whilst as a club our aim is to provide an excellent environment for young people to improve their sporting and rugby skills, as they reach 16 and beyond careers also need to be considered and forged. With this in mind the club has set up an apprenticeship scheme with a number of local companies. Apprenticeships combine learning and qualifications with earning a wage which is a huge win for all concerned. More details of the scheme are available by clicking on the Apprenticeships tab near the top of this page. We would like to take this opportunity of expressing our thanks and appreciation to the companies involved.
