The first training session for the girls’ teams will be on Tuesday 3rd September from 6pm to 7pm, and every Tuesday after that at Wharfedale RUFC. The under-13s and under-15s will train together most of the time, just splitting into age groups for contact rugby activities and games.

Do you have a few hours to spare on Friday mornings and enjoy being outside? If so, you are the person/people we are looking for to join “The Friday Gang” working on the grounds. The work involved ranges from mowing and strimming to white-lining and general tidying up etc.

Whilst as a club our aim is to provide an excellent environment for young people to improve their sporting and rugby skills, as they reach 16 and beyond careers also need to be considered and forged.

With this in mind the club has set up an apprenticeship scheme with a number of local companies. Apprenticeships combine learning and qualifications with earning a wage which is a huge win for all concerned.

The annual fundraising cricket match between Appletreewick Village and a team from Manorlands Hospice, took place down the Dale last week and so Jennie took the opportunity to enlist some WRUFC members to help conduct the 200 Club quarterly draw.
