We welcome old friends from over the Pennines on Saturday in the form of Preston Grasshoppers. We first played Hoppers back in 1995 and have played on many occasions since. Dale visited Lightfoot Green back in October and victory went to the home team in an eleven try thriller. Preston had a moderately good start to the season winning half their matches in the first two months. Since then, they have found it hard going, winning only one more match which was against Rossendale at home at the beginning of December. They now find themselves in 11th place in National League 2 North hovering just above the relegation zone but with an important 7-point cushion over Hull and with a game in hand. Last week, they had a thrilling, high scoring match against Tynedale narrowly losing by 5 points. It promises to be another cracking game of rugby at the Avenue. KO is at 2pm.
