High paced and clinical from the kick off, the Dalesmen soon had points on the board, courtesy of a try by Jamie Wake converted by Ethan Spencer. The pressure and fast paced rugby continued until half time with Andrew Rhodes and Owen Bullock scoring tries, Spencer converting one. The only blemish had been the concession of a converted try due to sloppy defence and ill discipline.
The second half did not at first see Wharfedale at their best. Selby were allowed to play on their own terms and soon they had levelled the scores with two tries, one of which was converted.
The Greens then seemed to regain their rhythm and eventually Snell touched down, making the score 26-19 at the final whistle.
This was a competitive mid-table battle. The result could have gone either way.
A big thanks to Selby for turning up and for contributing to a great afternoon.
