We are deeply saddened to report the death of one of our most respected life members, Roger Toseland.
Roger first became involved with the club as his son Mark developed through the juniors in the 1980s, then followed Mark’s senior career as a talented full-back and points machine as the club climbed through the leagues. Roger was a powerful presence on the committee for countless years and, after retirement from the Inland Revenue, acted as volunteer groundsman for around 25 seasons, zealously protecting his turf from any who sought to stray on without permission and overseeing the construction of the tackle shed to house the grounds equipment.
He leaves a very visible legacy and we are enormously grateful that Roger chose to give so much of his time and energy to the club.
We send our deepest condolences to Roger’s widow Janci, son Mark and daughter Joanne.
