Saturday 6 April - Billingham v Wharfedale (A) KO 2.15pm ------- Billingham 2nd XV v Foresters (A) KO 2.15pm ------

North Ribblesdale 2nds 26 Wharfedale Rams 24

This local derby match was an end to end game from start to finish, both sides having plenty of men, so rolling subs kept the game playing at pace.  Wharfedale were first on the score sheet with a try from Dan Arkwright after 10 minutes.  This was closely followed by a try from Scott Rogers.  Ribb then woke up, tightened up their game and scored a converted try.  Sam Mason was next on the scoresheet for Wharfedale, his try being converted by Jonathan Davies.  This made the half time score 7-17.

The second half saw Ribb regroup with the result that they opened the scoring with a converted try.  The game now swung from end to end with both sides trying to gain the upper hand.  With 15 minutes to go B Verity broke the stalemate with a try converted by E Spencer.  Wharfedale thought they had done enough, but Ribb had other ideas.  With 5 minutes to go they scored a converted try and, now scenting a win, a series of penalties and rolling mauls saw them get the try needed to steal it with the last play of the game.

Thanks to Ribb for a highly competitive game between two well matched teams.
