And so, we round off the first half of the season with a visit to the Field of Udders for a game “Underneath the arches”. We dream our dreams away, Underneath the arches, on victories we pray. Back to back we’re winning, battered and bruised, Happy when the sunlight comes creeping through the blues. What utter Flannel!, and it’s only Advent.
Great win last week if somewhat tense. Let’s hope that our team can grow in determination, stature, confidence and cohesion and notch up another warming win in West Yorkshire.
Huddersfield will be looking to build on their recent good run of results. They beat Sheffield Tigers and Harrogate at the end of November and last week lost 4 tries to 2 against Rotherham. They now sit a mere point behind Wharfedale in the table.
So, it’s time to get the winter woollies out, the thermals, the extra thick socks, the flask with something warming in it, the portable hot water bottle or whatever it takes, and get down to Huddersfield on Saturday to give the Green Machine the support they need and deserve.
KO is 3pm and the address for SatNavs is Lockwood Park, Brewery Drive, Huddersfield, HD4 6EN
NB The drivel at the top makes a bit more sense if you know that Huddersfield’s ground is under the Leeds to Manchester railway viaduct!
