Wharfedale travelled to Baildon with the unusual luxury of 2 spare men. Baildon had only 14 so Finlay Snowden stepped in to make up their team. The game was a nip and tuck affair with each team matching each other in all areas, and the scoring mirrored this. Each score was equalised by each other. An injury to Wharfedale’s front row led to the second half being uncontested scrums, but the game was still played with the same intensity and scoring opportunities were limited. Baildon only pulled away in the final 20 minutes with their bigger forwards using the downhill slope to their advantage.
Wharfedale scorers: – Tries – Mick Greenwood, Sam Mason, Finlay Snowden. Conversion – Andy Rhodes.
Finlay Snowden also scored a try for Baildon whilst on loan in the first half.
