Wharfedale Development XV 61 – 0 Old Rishworthians

Wharfedale received the kick-off, playing up hill against Old Rishworthians. An early score to the home side was created by full back Harry Bullough, who, showing no ill effects of his recent injury, broke clear up past the scratching shed and passed inside to centre Sam Lockwood, who touched down under the posts. Conversion by Harris Catley. 7-0.

The next try was a similar move with another break up the left flank and good handling skills put Josh Prell in for his first. 14-0. Then a chip over the defence by scrum half Max Bell was gathered by the impressive Bullough to score. 21-0.

Tries continued to be scored in quick succession by the home side and it soon became apparent that the contest had become no benefit to either side. 6 more tries were scored and all but one converted by Harris Catley to take the score to 61-0 before half time.

After discussion between the two sides management and the referee, it was decided to record the score as it stood for the league, but play a second half of mixed teams between the two clubs. Anyone with an odd number on their back swapped sides and in doing so produced an intriguing second half of rugby. The trouble was just knowing which team to support and where to put the numbers on the score board.
