The Rams came up against a strong Huddersfield side who were just a little more street wise than some of Wharfedale’s youth. The game was keenly contested in all areas, with both sides making good attack and defensive moves. Huddersfield scored first after only 5 minutes but Wharfedale replied with a penalty kick.
Huddersfield went further ahead with a second try. The rest of the first half was a chaotic affair with neither side getting any substantial advantage. Some fresh legs for both sides at half time kept the game moving at a frantic pace and Wharfedale closed the gap with a converted try. Huddersfield replied with 2 more tries before Wharfedale scored another converted try to keep them in the hunt, but as the final quarter loomed, Huddersfield finished the stronger with 2 more scores to seal the game.
