Refreshing  once again to be reporting on a match for this excellent squad, who have had such an exasperating season which could have driven many to despair . Not the Foresters, they are made of sterner stuff than that. Don`t hold your breath but after watching the 1st XV`s sparkling display against Chester and the introduction of the  Greens next  generation, the Club could be entering a very exciting era. Introducing several very promising younger players has provided that vital injection of pace and athleticism which is obviously proving successful with results obtained. Fingers crossed !!

Another cracking game of rugby at the Avenue was won by Wharfedale by 6 tries to 4. Dale opened up where they left off last week away to Sheffield and raced into a 19-point lead. Chester rallied and began to get into the game but Dale were not to be caught and were worthy winners.

A superb display of fast flowing rugby saw Wharfedale travelling back up the M1 with five totally deserved points. We may have snuck the home match in the last minutes but this was a totally different story. Sheffield had a brief spell either side of half time when they managed to score two tries but the rest of the match was dominated by Dale.

An exciting, enthralling game of rugby was won by a point by Otley at Cross Green. After the non-event the week before at the Avenue it was good to get back to seeing good quality rugby, played at pace and with all players committed to the cause. As one ex-player commented “There was more rugby in the warm up than there was in 80 minutes last week”.
