Cavalry Club
The Cavalry club was founded on the summer of 2009 to bring together Wharfedale’s individual and corporate supporters in the face of a drastic reduction in central funding from the RFU. Its first year proved a great success, enabling the club to maintain its standards on and off the field, and the players responded magnificently by delivering a season which took the club to 30th place in all England.
In season 2010/11 the RFU funding comes down again, and to maintain our standards it is vital to engage the threats to our financial security with renewed vigour. The annual cost of being a commissioned officer in the Cavalry Club is: Colonel £3,600; Major £1,800; Lieutenant £600.
