A strong Foresters side, supplemented by some players not available for Saturday’s match against Kendal, proved too much for North Rib to handle, though the Yorkshire 2 champions were more involved in a lively match than the score would suggest. The Greens ran in 6 tries (Ryan Gill (2), James Druce (2), Chris Steel, Simon Horsfall) to the hosts’ one. Will Bell and Druce slotted 2 conversions apiece.

Horsfall hat-trick
An eager Foresters team, with several players hoping to make a point to coach James Tiffany in advance of the National One campaign (starting on September 5th), overwhelmed a game North Rib side. Despite the 62-0 scoreline, the visitors never let their heads drop, and were close to scoring on a number of occasions. But there was no denying the superior fitness and pace of the Greens, and after an even first quarter tries were racked up at regular intervals. Simon Horsfall collected a fine hat-trick, with Chris Black (2), Sam Cottrell, Nick Taylor, Alastair Monks, Mark Simpson and Phil Woodhead also crossing. Luke Gray landed 5 conversions (2 from the touchline), and Will Bell added the 6th.
